Despite cries from fans, the third installment of the
highly successful Marvel comic book adaptation X-Men is here. Hardcore
enthusiast may be disappointed at losing the previous two films'
director Brian Singer to Rush Hour auteur Brett Ratner, but nonetheless
this is sure to be a blockbuster event. X-Men:The Last Stand is the last
chapter in the trilogy and it looks as if a "cure" for mutant evolution
has been discovered. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain
their uniqueness, though it isolates and alienates them, or give up
their powers and become human. The two opposing factions of mutants must
now come together to unite mutants across the globe. One side is led by
pacifist Professor Charles Xavier who preaches tolerance between humans
and mutants, the X-Men must prevent an all-out war. Their efforts are
hindered however by the maniacal Magneto and his belief in'survival of
the fittest.

Paradise Now
Your chance to see the film that caused so much
controversy at this year's Oscars. Two young Palestinian men, Khaled and
Said, are both recruited to carry out a suicide bombing in Tel
Aviv. The two men allowed to spend what is presumbly their last night
alive with their families. However, since absolute secrecy must be
maintained and they can tell nobody of their mission, theirs can be no
proper farewell. The next morning, the men are brought to the border.
The bombs have been attached to their bodies in such a way as to make
them completely hidden from view. However, the operation does not go
according to plan. Separated from each other and left to their own
devices, it's up to them to face their destiny and stand up for their
convictions. (Limited release at House, Siam and Lido)
